Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS)
Under emergency braking using conventional braking systems, the wheels can lock up, making the car unsteerable. ABS provides continuous monitoring and control of the braking force and in some circumstances can reduce the braking distance while maintaining full steering capability.
Modern high-quality tires are optimized and matched to the ABS functions. And braking on wet roads with ABS and ABS brakes is already often a standard test required by auto manufacturers for many tire test specifications.
